Come and join in the Summer Planting PDF Print

Ken and Oz updating planters in May 2011

Come along and help with the summer planting up of the planters and brighten up Kings Heath as part of our 2012 In Bloom entry.

Sunday morning sessions will take place on 27 May, 3 June and 10 June starting at 9 a.m. (but latecomers are always welcome!)

At the first session on 27 May we will be meeting at The Parade (opposite Argos) to replace 5 old planters. This will be quite hard work for which we require a lot of volunteers with spades and brooms! The two following sessions should be more straightforward.

We are looking forward this year to receiving help from staff from NatWest and other local businesses as well as from many local residents.

All the sessions will be led by a renowned local horticulturalist. If you cannot make the Sunday sessions, then other sessions will take place on weekdays. Please get in touch to find out when.

This is a great opportunity for local residents and businesses to meet each other, get involved in improving the community and share ideas. Normally we will adjourn to a local cafe afterwards for a drink and a chat.

Please let us know if you will be coming along by phoning or texting Philip Osman (Oz) on 07816 622459 or e mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

And don't forget to bring gardening gloves and trowels. Hi-Viz jackets as modelled by Oz above will also be available!
